Experience
Throughout my schooling, at both Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, MA and the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, I have seen many students meet mathematics and statistics classrooms with much frustration and difficulty. I believe that overcoming this frustration can open the door to many opportunities for these individuals, and to be able to help students do this would be a very rewarding experience. The application of mathematics and statistics has no bounds, and understanding these subjects can be valuable to each and every breed of student, in each and every part of the world. As a Mathematics and Statistics double major at the University of Vermont, I have developed a firm understanding of these subjects, achieving a 3.84 GPA at the end of my four years of study. Throughout this time, and during my time in high school as well, I have spent countless hours tutoring fellow classmates to help them understand material that they were unable to grasp during class time. These students developed exceptional understanding of the material, and were able to apply these skills to their respective areas of expertise effectively. I believe that mathematics and statistics are some of the most powerful tools that we have available to us today and that they can be used to achieve all sorts of positive outcomes in any career path. Too many students give up on learning these subjects because they can be difficult, or they decide that it is not important to what they want to do in life. The opportunity to teach students the versatility of mathematics and to help them understand it is very exciting to me. SAT Math Score: 800
